Lois L. Smyser Lois L. Smyser, 88, Tiffin, died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at Autumnwood Care Center of Tiffin. She was born Sept. 20, 1918, to Christopher and Orpha Mae (Woodruff) Coppler in Fostoria. She married Clyde Zimmerman, and he preceded her in death. She later married Robert Desbin, then Kenneth Smyser, and they also have preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Judy (Stanley) Fritz of Tiffin; two sons, Gary (Jamie) Zimmerman of Fostoria and Lee Zimmerman of Tiffin; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers, Leonard Coppler and Richard Coppler, both of Fostoria, Gerald Coppler of Tulsa, Okla., and Larry Coppler of Oceanside, Calif.; and one sister, Joyce Sharpless of Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger Zimmerman; three brothers, Denzil, Charles, and Donald Zimmerman; and one sister, Evelyn Sheets. Mrs. Smyser retired from General Electric after 25 years. She was a member of Gewots Grandmothers Club, the Tiffin Eagles and Moose. She also was known as the Cookie Lady. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at Trinity Cemetery in Risingsun. Engle-Shook Funeral Home, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care or to the family |
