Lois attended schools in Knox County, Illinois, and graduated from Brown Business College. She worked at the county Courthouse in Knoxville and as an bookeeper to her father. She vacationed with her brother and sister-in-law in Florida in 1938, where she met Carl Reinheimer. They dated for 2 weeks, she went back to Illinois, packed her belongings, said her goodbyes and moved to Florida where she married Carl. To this marriage, two daughters were born, Harriet Louise and Carlene Lois. Lois worked as the first crossing guard at Lutz, Elementary School, where her smiling face was a fixture for 14 years. Both her children and several grandchildren attended that school. After becoming ill, she moved to her daughter, Carlene's home in Mississippi and passed away at a nursing home just over the Mississipp line in Alabama. She is survived by her two daughters, Harriet Stairs, and Carlene (Peter) Yarnot and 4 grandchildren: Paul(Skip) Stairs, Todd Stairs, Caryn Yarnot and Cynthia Yarnot. Lois requested that she be creamated and her cremains were scattered at her home of over 30 years in Lutz, Florida. |
