son of David Zahniser (1795-1874) and Anna Coulson (1796-1850), who married 1818 Lint (1821-1901) m1 Clarinda Jones (d. 1878), m2 Angeline Woods (d. 1895) "spent his earlier years in the Western states where he married. Returning to his native state, he lived in Lake and Jackson Townships [Mercer County, Pennsylvania] till the death of his second wife, after which he resided with his brother D. R. P., on the old homestead."
