    Aaron, (son of David and Ann Coulson Zahniser), b. 1831, d. 1898; m. 1857 Harriett A. Smith. In early life he went west and learning the tanner's trade settled in Oregon, where he resided till his death.

    Given his residence in California from sometime before 1880 through 1898, this is his most likely place of death. He does not appear on the 1900 Voter Registration lists.
