At the age of 2 years, came with his parents to Tama Co., IA, in 1852, where he remained until his marriage in 1877. He then moved to Hall Co., NB, and later to Harrison Co, IA. In Harrison Co. in 1900 Census. Rented freight car to bring the family’s goods from Iowa to Vera, Washington. Purchased 10 A for himself, and 5 A for each of his daughters. (He had sent Cliff to Dental School.) Planted fruit orchard on all 20 A.


Moved with his parents from Ohio to Tama County, Iowa, in 1852. Lived there until his marriage in 1877, when he moved to Hall Co., Nebraska. Later, he moved to Harrison Co., Iowa - there in 1900 Census. Rented freight car to bring the family’s goods from Iowa to Washington, where he purchased 10 A. for himself, and 5 A each for each of his daughters. (He had sent Cliff to Dental School.) Planted fruit orchard on al 20 A.

He also leased 100 A pf wheatland in the Palouse, and owned a pig farm in the mountains, which was run by an employee.

Horses were Jewel and Diamond.
