Leota M.Bowen was born in Mahaska County, Iowa Dec. 8,1882 and departed this life Nov.16,1955 at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston, Iowa at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 22 days. She was the daughter of George and Amelia Espy Bowen.
She was united in marriage to Ed Green at Orient, Iowa Oct.20,1897.
She was a member of the Hill Of Zion Christian Church and lived in the Zion community many years before moving to Creston Jan.20,1951.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Ed, 3 sons Clare of Zion, Rex of Tempe, Arizona and Max of College, Alaska; 1 daughter Mrs. Pluma Shouse of Creston; 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers Oren and Clarence of Greenfield and Ralph and 1 sister Mrs. Clara Green of Yakima, Washington; nieces nephews and a host of friends.
One daughter Mrs. Merla Kuhns preceded her in death in 1951
Funeral services were held at the Hill Of Zion Christian Church Saturday Nov.19,1955 with Rev.R.G.W. Collins and Rev. Clarke Howard officiating.
Interment was in the Hill Of Zion Cemetery.
