The 1879 Ordnance Survey map shows that there were two Parkhouse Farms very close to each other, one in Charlwood parish and the other half a mile to the south in Ifield parish. By the time of the 1897 map, the northern Parkhouse Farm in Charlwood parish had disappeared.

The Will of Leonard Thomas Jordan formerly of Parkhouse Farm in the Parish of Ifield in the Parish of Ifield in the County of Sussex but late of Dorking in the County of Surrey Farm Servant who died 30 March 1876 at Dorking was proved at the Principal Registry by Robert King of Johnson's Common in the Parish of Charlwood in the County of Surrey Farmer the sole Executor.
Registered copy of will and probate: [Names put in bold] This is the last Will and Testament of me Leonard Thomas Jordan now residing with Mrs Mary Lee at Parkhouse Farm in the Parish of Ifield and County of Sussex as farm servant being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding - First I will and direct that at my decease my body be placed in a shell then enclosed in a substantial Coffin covered with black Cloth and decently interred in the burial ground belonging to the Established Church at Horley Surrey and that all my just debts funeral and other reasonable and necessary expences be immediately paid off and discharged I give and bequeath to Robert King of Johnsons Common in the Parish of Charlwood and County of Surrey aforesaid Farmer All that my ready money bills, Bonds and Securities for money of what nature or kind soever with all other my estate and effects (being all personal) wheresoever and whatsoever which I shall die possessed of or entitled to or which shall or may in any way be due owing or belonging to me at the time of my decease upon trust that he the said Robert King whom I hereinafter appoint as sole Executor and Trustee of this my Will or his Executor or Administrator do place out in Government or other good security the whole of the money arising from my said estate and effects and apply the interest proceeds and profits thereof as also any part or the whole of the principal (if necessary) for and towards the maintenance and support of my Sister Sarah Jordan during the time or term of her natural life And from and after the decease of my said Sister Sarah Jordan I will and direct my said Executor for the time being to collect and get in the monies so placed out as aforesaid and after deducting all reasonable and legal expenses and also erecting a rail in the Churchyard to my memory divide the clear residue in this manner to Edward and Mary Ann Hewitt Children of my Sister Elizabeth forty pounds each one hundred pounds to be divided equally unto and among Richard Jordan Susan Jordan Eliza Jordan Elizabeth Jordan Mary Ann Jordan and Ruth Jordan being the Children of my late brother Richard Jordan To Richard and Henry Godsmark Children of my late Sister Lucy Godsmark forty pounds each and the residue divide equally among and between Mary Lee John Lee and Robert Lee Children of my late Master Charles Lee and my beforenamed Mistress Mary Lee to be paid and payable to each and all the above named persons as they shall respectively attain the age of twenty one years and to whom or their legal representatives I give and bequeath the same as their own proper monies for ever And I will and declare that my said Executor for the time being shall not be answerable or accountable for any more of the said trust monies than he shall actually receive nor for any involuntary loss which may happen of the same and that he shall be allowed all such reasonable and necessary charges damages and expences as he shall pay expend incur or be put unto as well as for his loss of time in or about the performance of this my will or the trusts hereby in him reposed And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Robert King to be sole Executor and Trustee of this my Will and hereby revoking and making void any former or other Will or Wills by me heretofore made do publish and declare this only to be and contain my last Will and testament In witness whereof I the said Leonard Thomas Jordan the Testator have to this my Will contained in this one sheet of paper affixed my mark to my name in the presence of the attesting witnesses this twelfth day of July in the Year of Our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty four - Leonard Thomas his X mark Jordan Signed by the said Leonard Thomas Jordan as and for his last Will and testament (the same having been read over and explained to him before signing) in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses - John Chart - Kate Chart of Newdigate Surrey.
Proved at London 28th April 1876 by the Oath of Robert King the Sole Executor to whom Adm[inistrati]on was granted
ON the 28th day of April 1876 the Will of Leonard Thomas Jordan formerly of Parkhouse Farm in the Parish of Ifield in the County of Sussex but late of Dorking in the County of Surrey Farm Servant deceased, who died on the 30th day of March 1876 at Dorking aforesaid was proved in the Principal Registry of the Probate Division of the High Court of Justice, by the Oath of Robert King of Johnson's Common in the Parish of Charlwood in the Said County of Surrey Farmer the sole Executor named in the said Will he having been first sworn duly to administer Effects under £1,500 No Leaseholds
