He moved to SAINT JOHN, N.B.,in 1870-71 with 2 children, one had died previously in Halifax. Although he is listed as a Nail maker ( probably worked at the nail factory on Golden Grove road at one time) according to his Grandson (James [Jim] McRae) as related to Loraine in 1988 he was a shool teacher, lived at Moosepath (later Coldbrook) and owned property there. He also made Violins.
