Leah B. Esteb

    Leah B. Esteb, 82, Kingston, MO, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 1992, at a hospital in Liberty, MO.
    Born in Nettleton, MO, Mrs. Esteb received a bachelor of science degree from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.  She was a school teacher in the Hamilton, Cowgill, Polo and North Kansas City school systems, retiring in 1973.  Mrs. Esteb was a member of the Kingston First Christian Church.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, in 1985.
    Surviving are a son, Jim, of Dallas, TX; a daughter, Reta Graf, of Kansas City; three sisters, Thelma Sloan of Cameron, MO, Ruby Wachter of Nebraska City, NE, and Julia Wiliams of Barstow, CA; a grandson and two granddaughters.
    The funeral was Jan. 28 at Bram-Clark Funeral Home in Kingston.  Burial was in Kingston Cemetery.

Mrs. Esteb taught elementary school in the Polo, Mirabile, Hamilton and Cowgill school districts in Missouri. She also taught in the Gashland-Clardy Elementary School in the North Kansas City School District for 15 years, retiring in 1973. Earlier she was a clerk at the Caldwell County Court House. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Warrensburg Central Missouri State College in 1959. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Kingston. She was born in Nettleton, Mo., and lived most of her life in Kingston; she also lived in Gladstone. Her husband, Harold F. Esteb, died in 1985. Survivors include a son, Jim Esteb, Dallas; a daughter, Reta Graf, Kansas City; three sisters, Thelma Sloan, Cameron, Mo., Ruby Wachter, Nebraska City, Neb., and Julia Williams, Barstow, Calif; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bram-Clark Chapel, Kingston; burial in Kingston Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
