    Obituary.

Lawrence Schultheiss Rites To Be Saturday- Requiem High Mass for Lawrence Schultheiss (Tony) Schultheiss, 46, of Brittan Road, Monroe, will be sung at 9:30am Saturday at the Seven Dolors Church in Monroe. Burial will be in North Monroe Cemetery. Mr. Schultheiss died at 11:45am yesterday at Middletown Hospital, an hour after being injured while operating a paper converting machine at the Crystal Tissue Co. plant. A company spokesman said that Mr. Schultheiss slipped and fell and his left leg was severed below the knee when it was caught in the machine. A tourniquet was applied by fellow workmen before he was removed to the hospital. Mr. Schultheiss, member of a well-known Monroe family, was conscious en route to the hospital and talked to an attendant for the Tri-County Ambulance Service. Dr. Garret Boone, Butler County Coroner, said death was caused by shock and the loss of blood. Mr. Schultheiss had been employed 16 years at Crystal as a machine operator. He was born in Monroe and was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Kathleen; a son, Skip, at home; his mother, Mrs. Frances Schultheiss of Monroe; and two brothers, Richard and John of Monroe. Friends may call at the Schramm Funeral Home tomorrow from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9pm. The Rosary will be recited at 8pm tomorrow at the funeral home. The family asks that flowers be omitted and suggests memorial contributions be made to Doty House.
