She graduated from the Story City High School in 1926. She was valedictorian of her class and received a St. Olaf scholarship. She attended St. Olaf College 1926-28, taught school 1928-29, and returned to St. Olaf, graduating in 1931, Magna Cum Laude. She was an English teacher in Lanark, Ill., High School 1931-35. She graduated in Applied Social Service at Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, in 1937. She was a case worker in Associated Charities at Cleveland, Ohio, in 1937. She taught English part time at Albion College from 1958-1962. She was a School Social Worker in the Albion Public Schools from 1962-1974. She did graduate work in Social Work and Education at Michigan State. She attended the International Summer School at the University of Oslo. References
