He was a miller. He married 1st around 1677 (Tanguay, vol.IV, p.187; Jette, pp.511-512) to Anne GUÉRIN, daughter of Francois & Anne BLANCHARD; thirteen children. He married 2nd (Pointe-Claire) on 26 Jun 1719 to Marie-Anne BRUNET dit LESTANG, daughter of Mathieu & Marie BLANCHARD (widow of Antoine PILON. !NAME-BIRTH-OCCUPATION-MARRIAGES-CHILDREN: Arsenault, Histoire et Genealogie, pp. 505 & 1632 (Riviere Saint-Jean). Born 1655, name spelled Laurent. A footnote says that he was born at Montral, and had as a godfather Paul de Chomedy, sieur of Maisonneuve, founder and governor of Montreal. His own entry on p. 1633 says he arrived in Acadia around 1676. He was at Pointe Beausejour near Beaubassin with his wife and one child on the census of 1678. He was still there in 1707. In 1714, he is at Saint-Pierre-du-Sud at Montmagny; and in 1718 at Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly, where his first wife was buried. In 1719 he is miller "au bout de l'ile de Montreal."
