News of Business Move: "The Paulin Implement company, Laurel and Jack Paulin, last week purchased the new building just completed by Elmer Wulf and Dale Johnson which has been the location of the Mobil oil station for a number of years. The new purchasers took immediate possession and began moving their stock and fixtures from the Robeson building Friday."S5 Oct 2, 1951 Automobile Accident: "Louis Hager and Laurel Paulin escaped with minor injuries from an automobile accident last week in which the Hager car was damaged almost beyond repair. The accident happened about twenty miles south of Maryville, Missouri as the men were on their way to near Clinton, Mo. after Mrs. Hager who had been visiting there. The Hager car was forced from the highway by two big trucks which passed on a hill, and the road shoulder was soft and the car rolled. Laurel Paulin recieved a black eye when his head struck the dash. Both men were bruised but not seriously injured."S9 [edit] Obituary"Laurel C. Paulin, 58, well known Kingsley implement dealer, died Saturday, March 5, unexpectedly following a heart attack at his home the previous evening. He was born Aug. 22, 1896 near Washta, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Paulin. He farmed in Union township for many years and moved to Kingsley in 1950 to establish the Paulin Farm Equipment store with his son, Jack. He married Myra Thompson, Sept. 19, 1921 in Sioux City. He was a member of the American Legion, Nash Post 140, and Cosmos Lodge, A.F. and A.M. in which he had been an officer. Survivors are the widow; his mother, Mrs. J.W. Paulin of Kingsley; a daughter, Mrs. Donna Rognes of Holstein; two sons, Richard of Remsen and Jack of Kingsley, who was a partner in the implement store; three sisters, Mrs. Harold Mulford of Kingsley, Miss Amber and Miss Bonnie Jean Paulin of Fort Dodge; two brothers, E.O. Paulin of Le Mars and James of Remsen; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Monday afternoon, March 7, with Rev. Douglas Ostlund officiating. Interment was in the Kingsley cemetery under the direction of the Dickison funeral home."S5 References
