Laura L. Heberling, 78, a native of Visalia, died Monday in a Visalia hospital. She worked for the Tulare County Health Department as a technician prior to her retirement in 1968. In addition, she worked for Williams Jewelers for seven years. The former Laura Bowen was a great-granddaughter of the late Elizabeth Wingfield Tatman, an early settler in this area. Her father owned a livery stable in Visalia. She attended school in Visalia and married Floyd Heberling on February 4, 1922, in Merced. She was a charter member of the Keanage Club, The Native Daughers of the Golden West and the Sequoia Genealogical Society. She was a gold star mother of the American Legion Auxillary. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, William Burton Heberling of Visalia; four grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Visalia Cemetery with the Rev.
