W.R. Bowen Is Summoned

  Death came to W. R. Bowen, well-know, retired business man of this city at 11:30 this morning following several years of ill health.  His death came suddenly, being taken seriously ill late yesterday after a trip down town.
  Born in Missouri on October 31, 1864, the deceased has been a resident of Visalia for the past ? years.  For many years he was the owner of a livery stable, later being engaged in the garage business, until he was forced to retire on account of poor health.  He would have reached his sixty-fourth birthday anniversary on the last day of this month.
  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Jessie Bowen, who he married in Visalia 30 years ago, by two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Heberling of this city, Mrs. Joe e. Josph of Los Angeles; two sons, Orand Bowen of Madera and Ted Bowen of Ontario; two daughters by a former marriage, Mrs. Kenneth Darling of San Francisco and Mrs. Fred Weisberger of Santa Rosa.  His parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Bowen, a brother, George Bowen and a sister, Mrs. B. F. Crowell, all of Oakland, also survive.
  He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of American Lodge.
  Funeral services will be conducted from Hadley and Locey parlors on Thursday afternoon at 2:30.  Interment will be made in the Visalia city cemetery.
