BIRTH: IGI, JMSeaver #154-i-9 MILITARY: Latham T. Seaver, a resident of Moretown VT, enlisted as a Private in the Union Army on 22 August 1862, and enlisted in Company B of the 13th Infantry Regiment of Vermont on 10 October 1862. He mustered out of Company B on 21 July 1863 in Brattleboro VT. He enlisted in Company C of the 1st Cavalry Regiment of Vermont on 23 August 1864 and mustered out of the unit on 21 June 1865 ["Military Records of Individual Civil War Soldiers," Historical Data Systems, Provo UT, accessed at "American Civil War Soldiers" database on www.ancestry.com]. CENSUS: In the 1870 US census, the Latham Seaver family resided in Montpelier, Washington county, VT. The household included Latham (age 25, farm laborer, $150 in personal property, born VT), Maranda (age 24, keeping house, born VT) and Edwin (age 2, born VT). Seaver (age 35, born VT, farmer, father and mother born VT) family resided in Montpelier, Washington County, VT. The family included his wife Maranda (age 34, born VT, keeping house, father and mother born VT), son Edwin M. (age 11, born VT, at school), and daughter Mary Jane (age 8, born VT, at school).
