Obituary in State Center Newspaper June 2, 1960 "Mrs John Maynard succumbs Sunday" "Mrs. John Maynard 82, passed away Sunday evening at Pleasant View Nursi ng Home here where she had been a patient for the last two years. "Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Wens el Funeral Home with William Baddeley in charge. Burial was in Hillside c emetery. "Mrs. Maynard was born March 22, 1878 in Story County, the daughter of Jam es and Mary Worral Nailor. She grew up and was educated in the State Cent er schools. "On July 22, 1900 she was married to John Maynard at Colo and they made th eir home in State Center where she had since lived. "She was preceded in death by her husband in 1947 and one brother. "Among the survivors are five sons and four daughters. They are Lee of Ri dgefield, Wa. Raymond of New Providence; William of Hubbard, Wesley of St ate Center, Theron of Rochester, MN; also Mrs. Leon Bodie of Rhodes, Mr s. Lee Nolta of Melbourne, Mrs. Joseph Miller of Casper, WY; Mrs. Kenne th Runberg of Wichita, KS and one sister Mrs. Charles DeVore of Liscom b. Fourteen grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive." References
