On 9 Aug 1698, Richard Shipley, administrator of the estate of his father, Adam Shipley, conveyed to his sisters Ketura Barnes and Lois Shipley, each 100 acres of Shipley's Choice, on the south side of Severn River.

She was still living in Elk Ridge in Aug 1730 when she deeded personal property to Peter Barnes, who was to pay a debt owing to Philip Hammond.
