Obituary of Julius Garland Palmer compiled from the Camilla newspaper The Camilla Enterprise dated 23 Aug 1991 by the Southwest Georgia Genealogical Society. Page 191. 1994. Julius Garland Palmer, 88, of Camilla, died Sunday, 18 Aug 1991 at the Mitchell County Hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, 20 Aug at eh Camilla United Methodist Church with Dr. John Deck officiating. Burial was at Akridge Cemetery. Palmer was born 28 Feb 1903, in Mitchell County, the son of Seaborn and Lila (Luckey) Palmer. He had been in the mens wear business for many years in Camilla and retired from Rosenberg's in Albany. He was a member of the Camilla United Methodist Church and the Jay Gardener Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Camilla Masonic Lodge 128--past Worshipful Master and had been presented a 50 year pin for Masonic membership, and William T. Flint Chapter 303 of the Order of the Easter Star--pas Worthy Patron. Survivors include his wife, Lorena Bolton Palmer of Camilla; two daughters, Nina Palmer Simmons of Camilla and Jalna Palmer Alday of Athens; a son, J. Gene Palmer of Marietta; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Parker Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
