Obituary of Albert Paschal Palmer as written in "The Camilla Enterprise" dated 12 Mar 1976. Albert Palmer, who had been in failing health for the past several years, died Monday 8 Mar 1976, at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla. He was eighty-one years old at the time of his death. Funeral services were held Wednesday, 10 Mar 1976, at 4:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the pastor, Rev Al Davis and Rev Edgar T. Davis Jr., pastor of the Camilla First Baptist, officiating at the services. Interment followed in Oakview Cemetery in Camilla with Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Charles Griner, Ivey Griner, Charles Yates, Maitland Yates Jr. Tim Williamson, Robert Bennett, Max Palmer Jr., Carl Shiver. Honorary pallbearers were members of Post No. 141 of the American Legion. Mr. Palmer was a native of Mitchell County and spent his entire life here. He was the son of the late S. E. Palmer and Delila Luckey Palmer. He was born 9 Apr 1894. He was a veteran of World War I, a farmer and retired school bus driver. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, American Legion Post No. 141, a retired chairman of the Board of Deacons of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Christine Shiver Palmer; one son, Jerry Palmer of Smryna, Ga; two brothers Ben Hill and Julius Palmer, both of Camilla; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Maples of Thomasville and Miss Vera Palmer; two grandsons also survive.
