Josiah Willis Seaver was profiled in the book "History of the Town of Waitsfield, Vermont, 1782-1908: With Family Genealogies," by Matt Bushnell Jones, G. E. Littlefield, Boston, MA, 1909. The profile reads: "JOSIAH WILLIS5 SEAVER (Nathaniel4, Joseph3, Shubael2, Robert1), probably identical with Josiah Willis, son of Nathaniel4 and Rebecca (Willis) Seaver, who was born in Framingham, Mass. July 18, 1742; he was in Shelburne, Mass. before 1772, when he was elected fence viewer; removed to Conway, Mass., about 1784, and to Heath, Mass., 1801. In 1810-11 he seems to have been in Edinburgh, Saratoga Co, NY, but went almost immediately to W[aitsfield], indeed he was taxed there in 1809; rem[oved]. after some years to Moretown, Vt. He married Sarah, dau. Jonathan and Sarah (Tufts) Whitcomb, b. Feb 10, 1748, died Oct. 9, 1838." On 19 April 1772, Elijah Williams of Deerfield, Hampshire County, sold land in Shelburne for £53 paid by Josiah Willis Seaver of Shelburne, husbandman,. The land was the west end of Lot #47 in the 2nd division on the west side of the road. Elijah Williams signed the Deed (Hampden County (Massachusetts) Land Records, Volume 16, Page 132, abstracted from FHL Microfilm 0,845,699, provided by Margaret Jenks). Hampden Co. Deeds: Film 845,707, 28:9: On 14 January 1784, Josiah Willis Seaver of Shelburne, yeoman, sold land in Shelburne for £150 paid by Jonas Rice of Shelburne, yeoman. The land was the west end of Lot #47 in the 2nd division. Josiah W. Seaver signed the deed, with witnesses Daniel Belding and Parker Dole (Hampden County (Massachusetts) Land Records, Volume 28, Page 9, abstracted from FHL Microfilm 0,845,707, provided by Margaret Jenks). In the 1790 US Census, Josiah Sever (Iindexed as "Lever") was a head of household in Conway, Franklin County, Massachusetts. The household included two free white males over age 16, one free white male under age 16, and five free white females (1790 United States Census, Conway, Franklin County, Massachusetts, Page 108, FHL Microfilm 0,568,144). In the 1800 United States Census, Josiah W. Seaver was a head of household residing in Conway, Franklin County, Massachusetts. The household included 1 male aged 16-26, 1 male over age 45, 1 female under age 10, 2 females aged 16-26, and 1 female over age 45 (1800 United States Census Population Schedule, Conway, Franklin County, Massachusetts, Page 60, FHL Microfilm 0,205,614). In the 1810 United States Census, Josiah W. Seaver was a head of household in Waitsfield town, Chittenden County, Vermont. The household included one male over age 45 and one female over age 45 (1810 United States Census Population Schedule, Waitsfield town, Chittenden County, Vermont, Page 188, FHL Microfilm 0,218,668). In the 1820 United States Census, Josiah Seaver was a head of household residing in Moretown town, Washington County, Vermont. The household included one free white male over age 45 and one free white female over age 45 (1820 United States Census, Washington County, Vermont, Population Schedule, Moretown, Page 026, FHL Microfilm 0,281,249). Josiah W. Sever and wife were warned out of Waitsfield, Washington County, Vermont on 23 April 1816 [Alden M.
