[note I'm not sure which Jacka is being reffered to in these articles, however it would most likely be Joshua Jacka or his son Edwin Knight Jacka (as Edwin married an Ebbott who were so very prominent in the Weslyan Church)]

  30. Johsua and his wife Rebecca place a Memorial notice in the paper for his brother it read as follows:-
"JACKA. In loving memory of our dear brother, William, who passed away on the 9th September, 1900, 1 Woodbury Villa, Wellington Street, Clifton Hill.
Long days and nights he bore his pain,
To wait for cure was all in vain
But God alone, who knoweth best,
Took our dear brother home to rest.
Cherished by his loving brother and sister-in-law, J. & R. Jacka"
Just a few observations about the memorial notice. It is thought that Joshua and William came out together (how and when have not yet been confirmed) so they were probably very close to each other and hence the memorial notice.
  31. Although he was listed as a miner, we know that he was not very well so was probably a retired miner.
