Personal History

Josie Theusch, the wife of Joseph Theusch, died on Saturday, April 1 after a short illness, aged 21 years. Recently she was riding with her husband and the team became frightened and ran away, throwing her out of the buggy and she was internally injured. The injury proved fatal. The deceased was a young lady and had been married but a few months. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Powlicki [Povliztke] of Geneseo and is survived by her husband and parents, brothers and sisters. The funeral services here held on Monday at St. Martin's church at Geneseo.


In July 1977, I had the previlege of talking to a neighbor of my husband's grandfather (Joseph Theusch). Blance Povliztke was the wife of Josie's brother. She thought Josie was buried with a small baby in her arms; but other friends could not remember. I wrote to the priest for St. Martin's Church and he could not find any records.

Josie is buried next to her parents.
