1900 Census Virginia, Smyth, Marion, District 82 Jackson, Walter head W M Jun 1865 34 M 6 VA VA VA Jackson, Josephine L. wife W F Oct 1866 33 M 6 0 0 * NY NY

  • the original was a small word, but it has been written over to say Virginia

1910 Census Virginia, Smyth, Marion, District 79 Jackson, Walter B. head M W 45 M1 16 Virginia VA VA Jackson, Josephine L. wife F W 45 M1 16 l l Louisiana NY NY Jackson, Walter B. son M W 8 S Virginia VA LA

I am aware that in the 1930 Census for Smyth Co., VA, Walter says his mother was born in Mass. But the 1880 census, the 1900 and tge 1910 census for Josephine do not agree with that.
