JOSEPH C YUTZY

JOSEPH C YUTZY CUMBERLAND Joseph C. Yutzy, 89, formerly of 710 Shawnee Ave., Cumberland, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Sacred Heart Hospital, he had been a patient at the Allegany County Nursing Home. Born on Nov. 11, 1910, at Cumberland, he was the son of the late Daniel Webster Yutzy and Ella L. (Cougheour) Yutzy. He was also preceded in death by his wife Edna (Arnold) Yutzy, who died on April 2, 1985; and four sisters, Mary Yutzy, Margaret Shroyer, Lillian Engle and Pearl Arnold. Mr. Yutzy was a bus driver for the City of Cumberland, retiring in 1980 with 42 years of service. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Potomac Lodge #100 A.F. & A.M., and the York Rite Antioch Commandery #6 Knights Templar. He was also a member of the Ali Ghan Shrine Temple, where he was a member of the Arab Patrol, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Alqonquin Forest #140, and a life member of Cumberland Eagles Arie #245. Surviving are two sons, Joseph F. Yutzy and wife Connie, Cumberland, Ronald C. Yutzy and wife Nadine, Keyser; three daughters, Joan L. Smith and husband Rob, Cumberland, M. Jane Humphrey and husband Sonny, Columbia, Mo., Anita B. Bingman and husband Albert, Waynesboro, Pa.; one brother, Roy W. Yutzy, Cumberland; five sisters, Bertha DeVore, Pauline McVicker, both of Hyndman, Marion Budnowski, Albany, N.Y., Dorothy Papa, Hagerstown, Barbara Trupp, Frankfort, Canada; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Kight Funeral Home, 309-311 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen F. Yelovich officiating. Interment will be held in the Madley Cemetery, near Hyndman, Pa. The Potomac Lodge #100 A.F. & A.M. will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be grandsons of Mr. Yutzy.
