    Joseph2 Trumble (John), born 19 : 3 mo. 1647; married 6 May, 1669, Hannah, daughter of Hugh Smith. He sold his homestead to Daniel Wicom, 4 Jun, 1675 (Essex Deeds, 5 Ips.:154), and soon moved with his family to Suffield, Conn. He was dismissed from Rowley Church, 24 May, 1680, to the "Church of Christ at Springfield" and died before 1687. It was his widow, Hannah, who married John Strong, not his daughter, as shown by the following extract from Rowley Church Record: "Hannah Strong, sometime the wife of Joseph Trumbl, & daughter to Br. Smith now wife of Goodm: Strong dismissed to the Church of Xst at Winsor Novemb 1 1687."

    Joseph (Trumbull), Suffield 1677, s. prob. of the first. John of Rowley, freem. 1681, as early as July 1675, liv. in Suffield, from wh. the Ind. hostil. soon drove him, there had Joseph, b. 16 Jan. 1679; Ammi, 1 Aug. 1681; Benoni, 10 Aug. 1684; beside some of the rem. to S. of wh. prob. Hannah, wh. m. 26 Nov. 1686, John Strong, the third, was one [his widow, Hannah (Smith) Trumble married John Strong, the second as his third wife], as also John. His s. Joseph m. Hannah, d. of John Higley of Simsbury; rem. to Lebanon, and was f. of the first Gov. Jonathan, b. 1710, H. C. 1727, a disting. patriot.
