Cumberland County Deed, 1791: This Indenture made this second day of March seven hundred and ninety one between Joseph Shores Price and Charaty his wife of the County of Franklin of the one part and Edward Walton of the County of Cumberland of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Joseph Shores Price and Charaty his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and eighty five pounds current Mondy fo them in hand paid by the said Edward Walton the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and confessed have granted bargained and sold and by these presence degrant bargain & sell unto the said Edward Walton and to his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land situate on the north Side Willisses River bounded by the said Edward Walton, Peterfield Trent, Phineas Glover, Joseph Watkins and Nathanial Carrington containing two hundred and sixty acres be the same more or less and is that tract of land devised to the said Joseph Shores Price by the last will and testament of his father Joseph Price deceased. Whereon the said deceased resided in his lifetime, with the reversion and reversions & remainders and all the appertinances thereto belonging and all right and title of the said Joseph Shores Price and Charaty his wife of in and to the said tract or parcel of land with its appertenances to have and to hold the said land and premises unto the said Edward Walton his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Edward Walton his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Joseph Shores Price and his heirs of the said tract and against all and every other person and persons whatsoever unto the said Edward Walton his heirs and assigns shall and will forever warrant and defend by these presents.
In witness, whereof the said Joseph Shores Price and Charaty his wife have hereunto put their hands and seals the day and year above written.

Memorandum that the burial place of the deceased Joseph Price and Ann his wife is to be held sacred and to as soon as may be put under a proper enclusure, and not at any time hereafter to be put into cultivation. Witness my hand and seal this second day of March one thousand seven hundred and ninety one.
