Guardianship Records
- Know all men by these presents that we John Phillips and Richard Tyler are held & firmly bound unto Robert Brooks Wm. Dangerfield James Garnett Alexander Parker John Corbyn & Rice Jones Gent. Justices of the peace for the County of Essex their heirs and Successors in the sum of Two hundred pounds Sterling to which payment well and truly to be made we bind our selves our heirs executors and administrators Joyntly and severally firmly by these presents Witness our hands and seals this 21st day of August anno Dom. 1744.
- The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound John Phillips guardian of Joseph Minter his heirs Executors and administrators do and shall well and truly pay or caused to be paid unto the said orphan all such Estate or Estates as now are and shall hear after come to the hands of said John Phillips as soon as he shall attain to law full age or when thereto required by the said Justices of the Peace for the County of Essex as also to save and keep harmless the said Justices of the Peace Their heirs and successors from all trouble and damages that shall or may arise about the said Estate then this obligation to be void and of none effect, otherwise to be and remain in full force power and virtue--

- August the 25, 1783
- I have given my son John a trade worth all most all my living he is to work with tules [tools?] till my son Tommas comes of age then they of all to tules and my land I leave to my Son Jammes my Cuper ]cooper] and Carpen [carpenter] tules are equally to be divided betwixt my son Fill and Willam and Cattel and hosgoods [housegoods] I leave to my wife as long as she lives.

- Pursuant to an Order of Essex County Court bearing date December Court 1783 We the subscribers having met and being first sworn according to law do approve all the Estate of Joseph Minter presented to our view in the following manner Viz:
