Joseph Keyte was baptised on 25th June 1773 at Shipston-on-Stour, which was then in Worcestershire. He was the son of Mary Keyte, formerly Higgins, and her husband John Keyte. Sadly, Joseph died when he was only three years old, being buried at Shipston on 3rd January 1777.
