"6 Joseph Hovey2, born in Ipswich in 1653. He lived in Hadley, Mass., until 1690, when he removed to Milton. He married Hannah, daughter of Richard and Mary Pratt of Malden May 31, 1677; and died in the summer of 1693, administration upon his estate being granted to his brother John Hovey, sr., of Topsfield June 9, 1693. The inventory of his estate amounted to £11, 12s, 8d, being all personal. £1, 4s, of this amount was of 'Things prized at Ipswich.' The estate was declared insolvent; and Thomas Holman and Nathaniel Pitcher, both of Milton, were appointed commissioners to examine claims."
