Joseph Dodge [#51], s/o Joseph Dodge [#13] and Sarah Eaton, b. N. Beverly 1676 [by age at death], d. abt. 9 Feb 1756 aged 80, m. (1) 28 Nov 1695 Rebecca Balch, m. (2) (int.) 9 Jul 1705 Priscilla Eaton, m. (3) (int.) 29 Apr 1716 Ruth Woodbury, m. (4) (int.) 11 Mar 1721-2 Elizabeth Clark.
[Note: cites Essex deeds Vol. 72, p. 105 (physician, with wife Elizabeth, to son Nathan in 1736), Vol. 75, p. 107 (physician to David Stone, 1735), and Vol. 75, p. 160 (physician, to son Noah, 1737/8) as being this Joseph Dodge. This source says his son Joseph Dodge was "not traced". Since this Joseph's father (i.e., the grandfather) died in 1716, this Joseph, the father, should be senior after that date, and his son would be junior, so one would expect it was the father that married Elizabeth Clark, not the son, since the marriage record does not say junior. However, the son would have been old enough to marry in 1722, if he lived, and since he was not traced, it is not clear how this was ruled out. It appears that the first deed was used confirm that it was the father who married Elizabeth Clark, since the son, baptized 1701/02, would not be old enough to himself have a son old enough to own land in 1736.]
