Joseph H. (Harry) Conklin was born on 30 December 1856 in Ohio. His name appears variably as Joseph H. and Harry. He married Mary Jane Meyers on 3 May 1894 in Indianapolis. Mary Jane was born in January, 1874. A daughter was born to them on 18 March 1895, but she does not appear in the 1900 census. The 1920 census shows Joseph and Mary Jane living in Indianapolis. Joseph lists his occupation as library and law works. Joseph is listed in the 1928 and 1931 Indianapolis phone books. He died in Indianapolis on 3 December 1932 His will leaves everything to his niece Mrs. Clara May Brown with the provision that she provide a house for him as long as he lives. His obituary names his niece Clara Brown, nephew Walter English, and 2 great nephews.
