His only natural child d. 1749, so will dated 19 Mar 1757, bequeaths to sons in law Peter Jeneson, Israel Jeneson, Robert Jeneson and Samuel Jeneson; daughters in law Sarah Severen, Jane How; grandchildren born of daughter-in-law Eunice Richardson deceased; kinsmen David, Timothy, Daniel and Josiah Brooks and Anna Hoar [children of brother Daniel]; children of kinsman Eben Miriam deceased [children of the son Eben of his sister Elizabeth].

Will of "Joseph Brooks of Lincoln", dated 19 Mar 1757, proved 1 Oct 1759, names Church of Christ in Lincoln, Rev'd Mr W'm Lurence Pastor of s'd Church, Kinsman David Brooks, Kinsman Timothy Brooks, Kinsman Dan'll Brooks, Kinsman Josiah Brooks, Kinsman Anna Hoar, Son in Law Peter Jeneson, Son in Law Israel Jeneson, Son in Law Rob't Jeneson, Son in Law Sam'll Jeneson, Daughter in Law Sarah Severni, Daughter in Law Jane How, three grandchildren Born of my Daughter in Law Eunice Richardson Deceas'd, two children of my kinsman Eben'r Miriam Dec'd, Mr. John Hoar, residue to the Town of Lincoln. John Hoar to be executor.
