George (Joris) Rapelye became a Lieutenant of His Majesty's Forces. He wrote his name "Joris Rapelje". He was the first son of Daniel Rapelje. Joris was born in Brooklyn, L.I., New York, where he became a brewer. He married Agnes, daughter of Cornelius Berrigan, of Newtown, L.I., New York, Joris & his wife, Agnes, moved to Newtown in 1711 and bought the 200 acre farm of his deceased brother-in-law, John berrian, at the head of Flushing Bay. He conducted his brewery there. He died January 19, 1741, and his widow died November 3, 1756 at age 81.[Woolley G.w Family Tree.FBK.FTW.lnk.FTW-3.FTW]
