Jordan Manring's Estate

No will is mentioned, but it does not say he died intestate.
"On application it is ordered by the Court that Samuel R. Holcomb be and is hereby appointed administrator of the Estate of Jordan Manring, late of the said county of Gallia deceased and Thereupon the said Samuel R. Holcomb came before the Court and accepted said appointment being being thereupon duly sworn gave bond with William Ewing and Samuel Summers, his securities, to the acceptance of the Court in the penal sum of $3,000 conditioned according to law. Ordered that George Eagle Thomas Cherington & Richard Kerr after being duly sworn do appraise the personal Estate of Jordan Manring late of said county Deceased.
And afterwards to wit, on the 28 day of February 1838, the said appraisers filed in the Court office of said Court the following Inventory and Appraisement of the goods and chattels belonging to the estate of Jordan Manring Deceased made this 10th day of January 1838, the value annexed to each article as follows, to wit:

It is hereby certified that the hold amount of sale of the personal property belonging to the estate of said deceased sold this 10th day of January 1838 amounts to the above mentioned sum of two hundred eighty three dollars and seventy eight cents, there is, however, some personal property yet remains in the hands of the administrator unsold for want of bidders, which when sold will cause another and separate return.
