Jonathan G. Smith was born May 1st 1857, and died March 15th, 1926 aged 68 years, 10 months, 14 days.
He has lived on the old Cordon Smith Homestead ever since his childhood, except a few years in Sparta, Michigan. On March 27th, 1876 he was united in marriage to Josephine Andrews, who died June 5th, 1913.
To this union were born three children, William Smith, Mrs. Jasper Jordan and Nelson A. Smith, the latter dying at the age of three years.
On December 22, 1914 he was united in marriage to Orilla Smith, who had two children, Homer Smith of North Dakota and Mrs. Frank Roberts, Lake Odessa, who is left beside the children, six grand children, two brothers, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
The funeral services were held from the late residence Thursday afternoon, March 18th. Interment at Lake Side Cemetery.
