Offering several pieces of conflicting information:
    1) Two depositions given by him (44 on 28 Sep 1686, and 72 on 27 May 1720), are remarkably consistent, and suggest a birth in 1641-1642. Of course, if they mean in 44th year, in 72nd year, then the birth would be 1642-1643.
    2) A Bible entry in an old family bible, "mutilated record": "J. Pickering was Born 10 of February 1043", speculated to be him, and to mean his birth was "Feb. 10 or 16, 1643".
    3) Two descendants, one saying he was born in 1639, another saying he was age 90 when he died in 1729, so born in 1639.

Jonathan Pickering "probably died in Salem". A descendant (Benj. Ropes Nichols) "says that he died in 1729, aged 90".
