"Jonas Mollenkopf, a substantial and respective farmer of Tully Township,Van Wert County, Ohio, was born in Crawford County, in the same state,September 28, 1834, a son of Jacob and Sarah Mentzer Mollenkopf. Jonaswas reared a farmer, was educated in the common schools of CrawfordCounty, and at the age of 28, October 29, 1862 [the correct date isOctober 30, 1862-day of applying for their license on October 29, 1862],married Frederica Myers, daughter of Jacob and Sarah [Crum] Myers. Hefollowed farming in Crawford County until 1876, then came to Van WertCounty and bought 160 acres in Tully Township, on which he lived untilJune, 1894, when he moved to his present place near Convoy, on which hehas a substantial and beautiful modern residence. To Mr. and Mrs.Mollencopf were born 10 children, named as follows: Albert G., JacobEdward, Clinton W., James and John [Twins], Sarah, Ella [Mary Ellen],Millie [Amelia], Wilson J. and one that died in infancy. Mrs. Mullen,passed from Earth January 1, 1893 [the correct date is June 1, 1893], asincere professor of the Presbyterian faith. Of the above namedchildren, Albert married Rosa A. Webster, in the father of two childrenand is a carpenter of Convoy; J. Edward, a clerk in and uncles hardwarestore [Abraham], married Edith [Effie Belle] Webster, a sister of RosaA., and has one child [at the time this was printed-had for morechildren], William C. manager of the home farm, married nanny Stephensonand is the father of one child. Among coughs constitute one of the mostsubstantial and respected families of Van Wert County, and Mr.Mollencopf is strictly a self-made man as far as success in business isconcerned."
