Adda Tharp wrote her cousin Jane Love: "We had abirthday dinner yesterday / Uncle William Reeces and Johnnie Vorhis and one of our neighbor boys as they were all on the same day. Johnnie is Uncle Sylvesters boy. We has a good dinner and a Good time / wish you could of been here. They wer 45 here. . . . Uncle Sylvester got his arm broken 8 weeks ago and it isnt better . . . Johnie / that his boy / got him ankle broke / has been broke three weeks sunday. / he is gitting along well."
