Sacred to the memory of John Stevens son of General Edward and Gilly Stevens Who died February 8th, 1820 at his seat in the County of Culpeper in the 55th year of his age.
He was an affectionate husband, indulgent master, a kind neighbor, and an honest upright man. His death was much lamented by an extensive circle of friends and relatives.
