Sacred to the memory of Edward Stevens, Jr., son of General Edward and Gilly Stevens Who died March 14, 1795 in the County of Culpeper in the 22nd year of his age.
His polite and easy behavior insured distinction in every society. The warmth of his heart gained the affection of his friends. His sincerity their confidence and esteem. Few persons ever died more lamented by their friends and neighbors. To his family and near relatives his death was a stroke most severe.
