JOHN STANDLEY WILL Printed in "Kentucky Tuckaways" Vol 6 issue #1, January, 1974. p 130-131 Donated by Mrs. Virginia E. Korte, 22266 LeFever St., Warren, Mich. 48091 In the name of God Amen. I John Standley of the county of Muhlenberg and State of Kentucky, being in low state of health, but sound minde and memory and cawling to mind the mortality of my body well knowing that is appointed for all men to die, do made this my last will and testament in the manner and form following to it. And desire that all my lawful debts be first paid by my Executory, hereafter named out of my Estate. I want my beloved wife Nancy to have my place I now live on containing 75 acres patented to John Standley during her life, one earling, two sheep, two six year old hoggs, two sows and seven small Shoetez(?), one cupboard and were or so much thereof as she thinks fit to keep, one flax wheel and cotton, one plow and gear. My three oldest boys is to pay there mother five dollars a peac. Item 2. ISAAC STANDLEY one hundred acres of land that he now lives on patented to FURNEY STANDLEY, one cow, and yerling that he has allridy got, one feather-bed and furniture all reddy got. Item 3. POLLY CASH one cow and yerling allredy got, one feather-bed and furniture allreddy got. Item 4. JOHN STANDLEY beginning at the path leding from Malones up the rocky hill on the line runing to the follow of Big Cave. running down Sad Branch. one bay horse colt already got. one bed and furniture the same. One red fore year old heifer same. And one sow and 5 pigs the same. Item 5. MOSES STANDLEY the balance of the land at the Hutson place including the farm be it more or less. and a sorrel colt, one branded white face heifer 4 yrs old, one bed and furniture, one sow & 4 pigs. Item 7. (no item 6) NANCY STANDLEY one bed and furniture, and cow calf. Item 8. JOSEPH STANDLEY what I have left to his mother at her death to be his. What they can make to be his. If there is not enough of the balance of the property to satisfy the debts the three oldest boys is to bare there equal proportion. It is my will that the property that I willed to my wife shall be hers during her widowhood and if she should marry again the property shall be JOSEPH STANDLEY my youngest son.
