    "Died Thursday morning at St. Mary's hospital after a long illness. Age 59 years. Born Feb. 19, 1898 in Merrill, he had lived in Saginaw 13 years. In 1924 he married the former Gertrude M. Kerby in Saginaw. She survives him. He was a member of St. Andrew's Church, its Holy Name Society, Choir, Athletic Association, Saginaw Council 4232 Knights of Columbus...was Grand Knight of the Merrill-Hemlock K of C. He also was a supervisor of Jonesfield township.
    He operated the Shay Water and Beverage Co. and was a member of the Bottler's Association..."
