    SCHENK, John, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 30, (1945), at the home of a son, George, Ferndale route 1. He was born in Australia and came to this country as a young man to settle in Wisconsin where in 1886 he wed Mary Rudy. The couple came to Whatcom county fifty-five years ago. Mrs. Schenk passed away in 1925. Mr. Schenk has resided here ever since. Survivors include two sons, George, Ferndale, and Robert, of Bellingham, and a daughter, Mrs. L. J. Donbusch, of Compton, Calif.; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. The body rests at the Knapp and Knapp funeral home in Lynden and funeral announcements will be made later.
