Crash Fatal To Driver, 23

Fillmore Man's Car Leaves Highway

John C. Ripple, 23, of near Fillmore, was fatally injured Wednesday afternoon when he lost control of his car on a curve two miles east of Cascade and went over an embankment.

Ripple was taken to the McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Ia., where he died at 5:30 pm. The accident occurred at 4 pm two miles east of Cascade on Highway 151.

Friends may call after 7 pm Thursday until noon Friday at the Till-Didesch Funeral Home, Cascade. The body will then be moved to the Carson Funeral Home, Maquoketa, Ia., where friends may call after 5 pm Friday.

Services Saturday

Services will be held Saturday morning. The time and place will be announced.

Mr. Ripple was born on Jan. 20, 1929, at Andrew, Ia., a son of Harold and Ethel Romer Ripple. A farmer, he lived one mile south of Fillmore. He married Agnes Regan. Mr. Ripple was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Fillmore. He was also a member of the Cascade Knights of Columbus.

Father of Four

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Craig, Michael and twin sons, Roger and Ronald, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ripple, Maquoketa; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Romer, Maquoketa; a sister, Mrs. Vona Tebben, Bellevue; and a brother, Richard, Maquoketa.

Members of the Cascade Knights of Columbus will meet at 8 pm Thursday at the club rooms and then proceed to the Till-Didesch Funeral Home to recite the rosary.

Services for John C. Ripple, 23, of near Fillmore, who was fatally injured in an auto accident Wednesday afternoon near Cascade, will be held at 9 am Saturday from the Carson Funeral Home, Maquoketa, Ia., to Holy Rosary Church, LaMotte, Ia., at 10 am.

Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery, LaMotte.

The Till-Didesch Funeral Home, Cascade, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ripple attended the Andrew high school, Andrew, Ia. He was married to Agnese Regan on June 10, 1948.
