John succeeded his father at Ballaradcliffe and was the Coroner for the Sheading of Ayre. He and his brother William were both members of tire Setting Quest or as Moars for Andreas. In 1604, Cuthbert GERRARD, Deputy Captain for the Island made an order that two men be appointed from each parish to confer with the Keys and select candidates for the office of Deemster. Andreas sent John RADCLIFFE of Ballaradcliffe and Gilbert McKELLY. It is believed that John married Gilbert McKELLY's daughter, or sister and the reason for his son being named Gilbert RADCLIFFE.
