First recorded in Andreas in 1569 as the holder of intack for which he paid a 1/4 of rent and he held the office of the Lord's Moar, (Bailiff), paying one Mark for this. In 1571, entered jointly with a William McSAYLE for a quarter of land in the Treen of Craigbye. He was also a member of the Lord's Setting Quest in that year. In 1575, he is entered for one tenement and a 1/4 of land in nthe Treen of Baltahestyn, which became the farm known as Balaradcliffe (Radcliffe Farm), which he acquired through marriage to the daughter of John BRADSHAW. From Peel Castle accounts, farmlands paid annual fines to the Lord of Mann, in rotation for provision of corn for the castle. The Andreas list for that year shows John's contribution was 5 Shillings and he also appears fas the Lord's Moar for Andreas.
