Gilbert held a number of lands in the area which he left to his two sons. He died in October 1668. Gilbert was first entered for intack in Andreas in 1625 and in the Liber Vast of 1631, paying 6 pence for the holding. In 1633, he loses the holding but in 1648, he is entered with his wife Margaret in the year of their marriage following the death of her father John KINRY and his right of land had descended to his daughter and her husband. This holding was for 1 penny rent and in the same year, the couple were entered for 4 pence rent in which John KINRY had been drawn, 2 pence in rent for which John KINRY the mother was drawn and 2 pence for Fynlo KINRY was drawn. The Lords Survey of 1700-1710 shows Gilbert had other lands which he compounded in 1643, namely the crofts at Belfast, the West Croft opposite Ballavarry and the adjoining land and un-named croft called Crot-a-Lough. His son John rceeived Crot-a-Lough and the other intack holdings from the KINRY family while James who obtained Old Belfast and the West Croft "Voar y Sundher". Archdeacon KEWLEY wrote that the name "Radcliffe y Sudher" was applied to this branch of Radcliffe's as they were overseers of the highways.
