    6 JOHN, Berwick, first ment. 1660. All evid. indicates that his w. Joanna was a dau. of Andrew Searle, His s. Andrew adm. Searle’s est. in 1690 and Andrew’s s. John named Searle as his (great) gr.fa. in a 1747 deed. That Andrew was the s. of a prev. w. would be a logical conclusion from the fact that the adm. papers describe him as A. N. guard. of James Neale (his minor br.), but, as James had no s. John, the 1747 statement must stand. Abs. from meet. 1668, 1685, prob. of Quaker sympathies. Lists 25, 30, 288. 298.
