(Glasgow 1791); died 9jan1797. form 1782 to 1797 he minister of the Tron Church, Glasgow. He married 21nov1758 Catherine (died 2may1790), daughter of Charles Hunter, min. of Pettinain (Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae). John MCCAUL was christened 10dec1724 at Whithorn, Wigtownshire, son of John MCCAUL and Elizabeth STEWART; John MCCALL married Kathern HUNTER 21nov1758 at Pettinain, Lanarkshire, and on the same date John McCaul married Kathrine Hunter at Symington, Lanarkshire (IGI).
